Caution
: Do not overfill the kettle, exceeding the “MAX” indication.
Caution
: Do not operate the kettle empty or if the water level is below the “MIN” indication.
• Close the lid and place the kettle on the base so that contact is established with the power
connection.
• Plug the power cord of the base into the supply mains.
• Switch on the kettle by pressing the ON/OFF switch downwards. The indicator will turn on.
The kettle cannot be switched on if it is not properly seated on the base.
• The kettle is automatically switched off when the water boils. However, the kettle can also be
turned on and off at any time with the ON/OFF switch.
• Lift the kettle from the base when the switch is in the “OFF” position.
• Remove the kettle from the base and serve the hot water. Make sure that the lid is safely
close when serving water. Beware of scalding.
• If the kettle is returned to the power base, any water left in it will only heat up if the kettle is
switched on again.
• After use unplug the appliance.
Cleaning and Maintenance
• Remove the kettle from the power base and allow it to cool down each time before cleaning.
Disconnect the plug from the mains.
• Never put cleaning detergents into the kettle. This will make the operation unsafe and
damage the unit.
• Never immerse the appliance or the power base in water or any other liquid.
• Never use highly corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents.
• Wipe out the kettle and power base with a damp cloth.
• To get the best results at all times, make a regular check to see if there are particles of scale
in the scale filter. Rinse the scale filter under running water and use a soft brush (not metal
brush) if necessary.
• De-scale the kettle regularly, possibly once a week, depending on the hardness of the water
and the frequency of use. Scale significantly diminishes the heating performance of the kettle.
Descalling
• In case the appliance switches off before the water boils, decalcification should be
performed.
• To decalcify, (a) fill the kettle with ½ litre of white vinegar, leave to stand for 1 hour without
heating or (b) boil ½ litre of water, add 25gr of citric acid and leave to stand for 15 minutes.
Make kettle boiling several cycles to clean decalcification residues, using clean water very
cycle. Rinse the kettle with clean water afterwards.
• Calcium deposits may also be removed using commercial decalcifying products. Follow the
manufacturer’s instructions.
