Alternate Drive Controller Boot Device Settings
You can set an ATA-133 or Serial ATA disk drive as the
system’s boot device. The “Onbrd Dev” or Onboard De-
vice listed in Boot Device items in the CMOS Setup Utility’s
Advanced BIOS Features section sets one of these as the
device the system should attempt to boot from.
If you have the P4G, the Onboard Device is the Promise
ATA-133 Primary Master. On the P4GS, if you connect a
Serial ATA device, the ATA-133 IDE3 Master channel con-
nector is disabled and the Serial ATA device becomes the
bootable Onboard Device.

Any alternate drive con-
trollers must be set to En-
abled in the IWILL Smart
Setting section of the
CMOS Setup Utility in or-
der to use the boot order
feature described here.
