condition, do not use the appliance; take it to an
authorized service Center.
∙
When tool is used outdoor, only use an extension
cable that is suitable for outdoor use and which is
marked for this specific use. Keep it away from the
working area, from damp, wet or oily surfaces and away
from heat and flammable materials.
∙
Avoid any accidental starting: make sure that the
power switch (if present) is in the «off» position, before
plugging the tool in.
∙
Remove adjusting keys or wrenches before turning
the tool on.
∙
Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn the
tool on or off. Any tool that cannot be controlled with the
switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
WARNING! During the use of certain
power tools, some dust containing
chemicals known to cause cancer,
may occur.
Some of these chemicals are: lead from lead based paints,
crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry
products, arsenic and chromium from chemically treated
lumber and other dangerous products. If dust is present, your
risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often
you do this type of work.
To reduce your exposure to these
chemicals, any time you do pulverulent operations, work
in a well ventilated area and work with approved safety
equipment, such as dust masks that are specially
designed to filter out microscopic particles.

If the appliance strikes a foreign body, examine the
device for signs of damage and carry out any necessary
repairs before restarting and continuing to work.
∙
If the appliance starts to vibrate abnormally, turn
it off and check for the cause immediately. Vibration is
generally a warning of trouble.
∙
Always switch off the appliance and wait until
the device completely stops whenever you leave
the machine, before carrying out maintenance,
before changing accessories, checking, cleaning,
troubleshooting or working on the appliance.
∙
It is forbidden to move or modify any of the internal
parts of the device.
Specific safety rules
∙
Always turn on the tool before setting it against the
piece you are working on.
∙
Large variations in temperature can lead to
condensation on live part. Before use: give the machine
time to adjust to the temperature of the work area.
∙
Do not use machines, tools and recommended
accessories for works other than those for which they
are designed!
∙
Secure the workpiece. Use clamping devices or a
vise to hold the workpieces securely.
∙
Do not use the equipment in areas where danger
of explosion exists.
∙
When not in use, during breaks, when doing
adjustment works, changing accessories or during
repair, always unplug the cable.
∙
When working: Do not allow the motor to staff
under load.
∙
Whenever possible, use a vacuum extractor for
dust collection.
∙
Remove dust and other waste matter in an
environmentally safe way.
∙
Take special care when sanding lead based paint: all
persons entering the work area, must wear a mask specially
designed for protection against lead paint dust and fumes.
∙
Never use the machine for sanding magnesium
workpieces.
∙
Do not sand materials containing asbestos!
∙
When sanding, avoid applying excessive pressure
to sander, as otherwise it may be forced to a stop.
∙
Never carry a plugged-in sander with your finger
on the switch.
UNPACKING
When unpacking, check to make sure that all
components are included. Refer to the drawings on this
manual. If any parts are missing or broken, please call
an IVT assistance center.
FITTING SANDING SHEET
∙
Switch off tool and pull out mains plug.
∙
The sanding plate is provided with a velcro-type
fasten for sanding sheets. This enables fast attachment of
new sanding sheets without the use of a clamping fixture.
∙
ATTENTION! Before attaching new
sanding sheet beat any dust etc. out
of contact fastener on sanding plate.
Lay new sanding paper tightly over sanding plate,
ensuring that holes in sanding plate and paper correspond.
∙
Coarse sand paper (grain 50) removes in general
the bigger part of the material and fine sand paper (grain
120) is used for the finishing.
REPLACING THE SANDING PLATE (4)
The plate (4) has to be replaced when the velcro has
been worn out.
ATTENTION! Before replacing the
plate disconnect the device from the
mains plug.
