1.6 Controlling IB-P05
The IB can be used as either a master or slave. If an IB is set as a master, the motor RUN and
remote output on the board can be controlled using logic programmed using iCEP. If IBs are set
as slaves, the motor RUN and remote output on each board will be controlled by a master (PLC
or IB set as master). Refer to “iCEP User Manual” for details.
This section introduces four major sample usages as follows:
(1) When the Profinet capable PLC controls IB controller
Set the PLC as a master and IB as a slave to make a PROFINET I/O communication between
the PLC and IBs. The PLC will control all the IBs.
(2) Controlling a zone using an IB as a master and monitoring each zone using a Profinet capable PLC
Set each IB as a master, and control using ladder logic stored on IB. In this case, PLC can monitor
the status of each IB by reading all 64bytes of data. And the PLC can write data into D register from
D800 to D807.
