runs must not exceed 3/4 inch. in size and all conduit runs must have
a sealing fitting connected within 18 inches of the enclosure”.

supply circuit before opening enclosure. Keep tightly closed when
circuits are alive”.

3.1 INSTALLATION
3.1.0 INSTALLATION ON MACHINE UNDER MD MACHINERY DIREC-
TIVE
If the vibrating machine has to be in compliance with MD Machinery
Directive n°2006/42/EC, we recommend to look at the Declaration of
Incorporation in which are listed the Directive requirements satisfied
by the CDX/IMX/VMX electric vibrators.
We particularly underline that the fixing system of the weight covers
(screws) doesn’t remain attached to the guards (weight cover) when
the weight cover are removed.
In any case it’s a machine manufacture task to take care of the risks
evaluation and take necessary actions
3.1.1 INSTALLATION ZONE
CDX/IMX/VMX electric vibrators can ONLY be installed in potentially
explosive atmosphere related to the equipment category, as listed in
page 3.
To assure the correct use of CDX/IMX/VMX electric vibrators in the
right zone, the user has to have knowledge of the standards and laws
relating to the potentially explosive atmospheres sector of the country
of installation and use.

3.1.2 INSTALLATION ON VIBRATING MACHINE
ITALVIBRAS vibrators can be installed in any position.
The vibrator must however be fixed to a perfectly flat surface (within 0.010
inch. (0,25mm) across vibrator feet) (Fig. 2, page 6) using bolts (quality 8.8
- DIN 931-933), nuts (quality 8.8 - DIN 934) and flat washer 300HV (DIN
125/A) which are
able to support high coupling torques (Fig. 3, page 6). Use a dynamometric
wrench (Fig. 3, page 6) adjusted according to that stated in the “Coupling
torque” table.
The diameter of the bolt, on the basis of the type of vibrator to install, must
correspond to that indicated in technical datasheet.
It is also indispensable to control that the bolts are tightened fully home.
This control is particularly necessary during the initial functioning period.
Remember that most damage and faults are due to irregular fixing or
badly performed tightening.
Re-control tightening after a brief functioning period.
It is recommended to fix the installed vibrator to a steel safety cable, with
opportune diameter and a length that will support the vibrator in the case of
its accidental detachment. Max. fall of 15 cm (6 inch.) (Fig. 7, page 6).
Attention: Do not carry out welding to the structure with the vibrator
mounted and connected. Welding could cause damage to windings
and bearings.
Warning: If installation is done in enclosed area, gas level or dust
content must be tested before welding. Welding in an area with gas or
dust may cause an explosion.
Attention: Use new bolts, lock nuts, and lock washers when installing
vibrator. Do not reuse old fasteners. Damage to vibrator or structure
could result.
3.2 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
All wiring must be made in compliance with the National Standards and
with the Laws in force in the country of use, with particular reference
to the standards and legislations in force for explosive environments
(protection mode “d”).
The wiring must be made by authorized electricians.
The wires making up the power supply cable used to connect the vibrator
to the network must have an adequate section so that the current density,
in each wire does not exceed 4 A/mm
2
.
One of these is used exclusively for the connection of the vibrator to ear-
th.
The section of the wires must also be adequate for the length of the cable
used so that a drop voltage along the cable is not caused that exceeds the
values prescribed by the regulation on this subject.
The wires forming the power supply cable connecting the motor vibrator
to the electricity main, must be of suitable section.
Use a power cable able to withstand temperature exceeding 105°C.
All CDX/IMX/VMX electric vibrators type G/D are equipped with a 130°C
thermal protector with a normally closed (NC) switching contact (stan-
dard IEC/EN 60730); the thermal protector circuit is sized for a maximum
voltage rating of 600 Vac and a maximum apparent power of 720 VA.
Use a manual momentary start switch.
The thermal protector has to be connected following diagram in fig.25
page 88.
Alternatively, only on specific request, the CDX/IMX/VMX type G/D
electric vibrators can be equipped with a 130°C PTC thermistor, fol-
lowing standards DIN 44081- DIN 44082.
