4.0 HORIZONTAL ENTRY SYSTEM SETUP and OPERATION
The Horizontal Entry System is designed for use in conjunction with various accessories to meet
different requirements. These may include winches, self-retracting lifelines (SRL’s), and full-body
harnesses. All installations must be approved by a Qualified Person.
4.1 SET-UP / INSTALLATION OF MOUNTING BASES
The Horizontal Entry System is designed for use in two types of bases depending on the given
application. Mounting bases must be set up or installed and used on an anchorage meeting the strength
requirements as specified in Section 3.1.
Setup #1; Manway Flanges from 16” (406mm) to 30” (762mm) Diameter.
1.
Remove manway hatch cover as required.
2.
Install Base Center Assembly on manway flange, ensure Mounting Post is vertical and tighten
clamps securely using only the attached Clamp Wrench.

Insert upper Mounting Leg Assembly, ensure connector engages completely, position
clamp
assembly on manway flange, and tighten securely using only the attached Clamp Wrench.

Adjust Mounting Post Height
