Verifying the Power Calibration 

Laser

 

power

 

is

 

calibrated

 

at

 

the

 

factory.

  

IRIDEX

 

calibrates

 

the

 

power

 

with

 

the

 

aid

 

of

 

a

 

power

 

meter

 

and

 

a

 

delivery

 

device

 

with

 

known

 

transmission

 

characteristics.

  

The

 

factory

 

calibration

 

procedure

 

meets

 

the

 

requirements

 

established

 

by

 

the

 

National

 

Institute

 

of

 

Standards

 

and

 

Technology

 

(NIST).

 

On

 

an

 

annual

 

basis,

 

SL/SLx

 

owners

 

should

 

compare

 

the

 

delivered

 

power

 

to

 

the

 

power

 

setting

 

to

 

verify

 

that

 

the

 

console

 

is

 

still

 

operating

 

within

 

the

 

factory

 

calibration

 

parameters.
