OFF position, the system will not respond to the request. During initial installation, the switch
should be placed in the ON position to permit the system to recognize and respond to registration
requests. If it is desired to deny future registrations, the switch should be placed in the OFF
position. This is useful when multiple systems may be connected to the same LAN. For details on
gateway Module and terminal registration refer to the
iPECS Admin & Program Manual .
The system database is initialized based on switch position 4. In the ON position the system will
load default values in the system database when power is applied to LIK-MFIM50B or the Reset
button is pressed. Note if the system looses power for any reason with the switch in the ON
position, the database will be initialized. Place the switch in the ON position then, after completing
the system wiring and prior to any database entries, place the switch in the OFF position. For a
description of the initialization process refer to the
iPECS Admin & Program Manual .
Wiring Connectors
Before wiring any of the Modules, first connect the
“ ” screw on the back of the Module to a
known ground, refer to section 4.4.4.7.
On the front of LIK-MFIM50B, there is the
“LAN” RJ-45 type connector. It should be wired to the
appropriate LAN points as Figure 4.4.2-1 and discussed in section 4.4.4.5.
Wire
“LAN 1” to a 10/100 Base-T switch, a POE8 can be used to connect to the LAN; refer
to the section 4.4.4.4 for RJ-45 pin assignments.
