Maintenance Safety Precautions
WARNING
After ANY adjustments, repair or service and BEFORE use, make sure all attaching
hardware is tightened securely. Otherwise, injury or damage can result.
CAUTION
DO NOT overtighten the
hardware attaching to the frame. This could cause dam-
age to the frame tubing.
Suggested Maintenance Procedures
1. Before using your transport chair, do the following:
A. Make sure all the nuts and bolts are tight.
B. Check all the parts for damage or wear and replace.
C. Check all parts for proper adjustment.
2. Periodically check the wheels and tires for cracks and wear. Have a qualified
technician replace if damaged.
3. Periodically adjust the wheel locks in correlation to tire wear. Refer to Adjusting
Wheel Lock on page 33.
4. Periodically check the front caster and the rear wheel hubs to make sure they are clean
and free of cracks.
