Appendix 3 CPU Board
The CPU board contains a number of potentiometers for controlling
various sensors. It also contains straps and circuits for setting
the type of communication on the standard serial port "uart:",
see Appendix 4.
Before touching the CPU board, carefully read this:
• Check that the power on control lamp at the top/front corner of the
board is off. If not, disconnect the power cord.
• Take precautions to prevent electrostatic discharge
• Only use non-conductive tools. There is low-voltage power
on the CPU board even when the printer is switched off and
disconnected.
The CPU board is fi tted with four potentiometers with the following
functions:
• Display contrast adjustment (see Chapter 13)
• Label stop sensor (LSS) adjustment
• Label taken sensor (LTS) adjustment
• Ribbon end sensor (R-End) adjustment
