Chapter 8 File Handling
Image files in .PCX format can be downloaded to "
RAM:"
,
"CARD1:"
or
"CARD2:"
using the
IMAGE
LOAD
command.
Before the transfer can be performed, the printer must be set up for
two way communication
1
.
IMAGE LOAD"<image name>",<file size>,"<flag>"
<file name>
the name (including the drive) you want to
assign to the image, e.g. "CARD2:LOGO.1".
<file size>
the size in bytes of the original .PCX file in
the host.
<flag>
either "S" or an empty string " ":
S = the image will be saved in the battery
backed-up part of the RAM memory;
empty string ("") = the image will be saved
in the volatile memory and will be deleted at
next power-up.
Upon receiving this command, the printer waits for the specified
number of bytes to be received with a 25 second timeout.
We recommend that you add the extension .1 or .2 to the image
name, so that you can tell which directions the image is suited for
before you print it out, i.e.:
IMAGE.1 is suited for directions across the paper web, i.e. DIR 1
& DIR3.
IMAGE.2 is suited for directions along the paper web, i.e. DIR 2
& DIR4.
