Installation Guide – AWARE Flood System
MONTHLY FLOOD SENSOR SITE INSPECTION CHECKLIST

For each sensor site, please check to following items and take note of any repair conducted during inspection
or future repairs that need to be made. Ensure that all inspections and validation measurements are properly
recorded in EDMs.
1. AWARE FLOOD NODE

Make sure the flood sensor cable is attached

Make sure the zip ties for the cable is in place

If the camera is present:

Make sure the cable is attached

Make sure the camera is positioned facing water/desired view

Inspect for damage to solar panels

Make sure the solar panels are clear of debris/dirt

Check for signs of insects on the exterior to the AWARE Flood Node and remove. DO NOT OPEN.

Clear the surrounding area of ground foliage and branches that could impact the solar panels
2. CONDUIT

Make sure conduit is secure:

To the post

With the ground stakes in place (if needed)

With zip ties or other means of securing conduit is near water
3. WATER LEVEL PRESSURE (WLP) MODULE

Ensure the post is secure in ground

Ensure sensor is secure to the post

Make sure the conduit is secure to the post

Make sure the sensor is secure to the post

Clear any debris from the area

Record a validation measurement and time
