Installation Guide – AWARE Flood System 

AWARE FLOOD INSTALLATION APP (FIA)

 

 

The AWARE Flood Installation App (FIA) brings all your environmental data right to your 

fingertips. With this app, you can manage your sensors, send commands, view their data, 

and receive alerts, all from your smartphone or tablet. The app also stores your data using 

a cloud-based data-logger so that it is always available without trips to the sensor site. 

 

Here are the instructions to set up the AWARE Flood Installation App with your AWARE 

Flood node/sensors. 

 

Installation/Configuration Instructions 

 

1.

 

Download the AWARE Flood Installation App (FIA) from the Play 

Store. Launch the application by tapping the AWARE FIA icon 

(pictured right). 

 

2.

 

Once the app is open, connect the serial cable to the smartphone and 

press “OK.” 

 

NOTE:

 The user must press “OK” when prompted. Otherwise, the app will 

not connect to the sensor. In the event the user inadvertently cancels or 

ignores the prompt by pressing outside the message box, the user must 

reconnect the serial cable for the prompt to show up again 

 

3.

 

Once the app successfully connects 
to the serial cable, the app will 
automatically initialize with the 
AWARE Flood Node and populate 
the fields in the Settings tab with the 
node’s current configuration.  

 

NOTE:

 Users have the option to either set 

new valid values on the available settings 

fields or reset the configurations to default 

values. The app takes 10 seconds to 

reconfigure the AWARE Flood Node and 

will update the settings values once it’s 

complete.
