The following table describes the labels on this screen.

User name

 

Enter your user name for new account.   

Password Type 

Select password type for new account: 

 

Clear Text: 

Password without encryption.

 

 

Encrypted: 

Password with encryption.

 

 

No Password: 

No password for new account. 

Password

 

If the password type is other than “No Password,” the password must be 
specified. 

Retype Password

  Retype the password to make sure the password is exactly what you 

typed before in the “Password” field.   

Privilege Type 

Select a privilege level for new account: 

 

Admin: 

Allow to make changes in switch settings. 

 

User: 

See switch settings only. Do not allow changes. 

Apply

 

Click 

Apply

 to save your changes to the switch.   

Modify 

Click

 Delete

 to modify any configuration. 

 
 

3.9.5 Enable Password 

 
This page allows the user to modify the enable password. In the command line interface, the user 
can usethe    “enable” command to change the privilege level to “Admin.” After the “enable” 
command is issued, the user needs to type the enable password to change the privilege level.
