Turbo Charge
Delivers improved fuel economy, more power and fewer particulate emissions.
Intercooler
The air after the turbo charger is cooled by the intercooler. It is mounted above the radiator
EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) System
The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system recirculates cooled exhaust gas to engine intake to reduce
NOx emissions.
The EGR system should be inspected and cleaned (if necessary) every 3,000 hours.
1. Replace the EGR pipe from between the EGR cooler and the EGR valve.
2. Inspect the EGR pipe and other components for carbon deposits and clean as necessary.
3. Reinstall EGR pipe (and other components if removed) and make sure to use new gaskets.
DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst) System
The DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst) is an exhaust after-treatment system similar to a catalytic converter
used on a gasoline engine in a car. It is located on the back of the engine.
Belts
Timing Belt Replacement
Timing Belt needs to be replaced every 5 years or 12,000 hrs, whichever comes first. Refer to the repair
manual DV6NR for step by step instructions.
