The utility mcsend
The utility mcsend serves for broadcasting the set files to the set multicast
address, each broadcast containing descriptive information, including identifier (serial
number).
The following format is used:
mcsend [-ip addr:port] [-f filename] [-once] [-c config_file] [-s speed] [-sn
SerialNumber] [-t time] [-i interface]
where
•
filename – the name of the file to be broadcast;
•
addr – the address to which the file is broadcast;
•
port – the port to which the file is broadcast

-once – the file is broadcast only once;
•
config_file – the name of the configuration file from which the settings for
broadcast are received;
•
speed – the rate of file broadcast (Byte per second);
•
SerialNumber – serial number of the file (identifier);
•
time – period of time after which the description of this broadcast must be sent
(ms);
•
interface – the name of the interface to which the file must be sent, for example
eth0;
Default broadcast is started in the demo mode,
But if one of the options -f, -ip, -once is selected,
The control shall be returned to the utility only after the broadcast is over.
If the option -once is not specified the file shall be broadcast infinitely.
The utility can use the configuration file (option –c) for simultaneous broadcasting many
files and for receiving the required parameter from the configuration. The configuration
file must have the following structure:
