Transpector MPS Operating Manual
3
SCAN WIDTH—
The
SCAN WIDTH
drop-down sets the width to scan around
the Scan Mass. This is useful for finding a mass that is far from its expected
mass position.
4
INTENSITY and 10% R—
Lists the intensity in Amps of the peak being tuned.
The
10% R
box displays the width of the peak at 10% peak height.
5
EMISSION/EM controls—
Turns on and off the emission and electron
multiplier.
6
MASS TARGET—
A red line is displayed at the peak of interest.
For example, when mass 2 is scanned, the mass target will be displayed
at mass 2.
7
Transpector MPS spectrum data—
This line displays the Transpector MPS
data for the scan width selected.
8
POSITION buttons—
The
POSITION
buttons change the location of the peak.
There are two different buttons on each side. The single button (
<
or
>
) will
finely move the peak. The double button (
<<
or
>>
) moves the peak the
equivalent of ten clicks of the single button.
NOTE:
The
POSITION
buttons move the peak in the direction of the arrows
(i.e., the
<<
button will move the peak left).
9
WIDTH buttons—
The
WIDTH
buttons increase or decrease the width of the
peak to achieve target 10% R.The single button (
<
or
>
) will finely change the
peak width. The double button (
<<
or
>>
) is a change equivalent to ten clicks of
the single button.
NOTE:
The
WIDTH
buttons are not directional. For example, both
<<
and
>>
increase the width equally around the mass.
10
Transpector MPS scan parameters—
These scan parameters affect the
Transpector MPS scan. Click
SET
to send the parameters to
Transpector MPS.
DWELL
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The amount of time that Transpector MPS
averages data for each collected point.
Longer dwell times will decrease noise and
increase scan time. Shorter dwell times will
be noisier and decrease scan time.
ppAMU
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The number of points that Transpector MPS
collects for each AMU. 1 ppAMU will
generate a bar chart with a data point at each
integer AMU value. >1 ppAMU will generate
an analog scan showing peak shapes.
