ECO mode operation (Heat pump alone).
This operating mode uses the heat pump only to
produce hot water.
However, if there is any fault, or the appliance
detects an air temperature outside normal op-
erating range (5 to 43°C), the auxiliary electric
unit or the boiler unit if available, will be used
to ensure a minimum amount of domestic hot
water (in this case the temperature setting is
automatically reduced to 45°C, and the user is
notified accordingly).
In ECO mode, the temperature factory setting
is 52°C.
The setting range is between 40°C and 55°C.
Operation of BOOST mode (All energy sources
available).
The BOOST mode allows the user to force-start
the heat pump along with all other energy sources
available (auxiliary boiler if available, auxiliary
electric unit) simultaneously in the event of
high demand.
The setting returns automatically to the previous
mode selected at the end of the cycle.
In BOOST mode, the temperature factory setting
is 62°C.
This value may not be modified.
Operation of ABSENCE mode (
).
This operating mode protects the tank in case of
absence; corrosion protection is assured and the
temperature setting maintains water above 7°C.
The selection arrows allow the number of days
of absence to be programmed. The user can set
between 1 and 99 days' absence. If no day is pro-
grammed, the water heater remains permanently
in absence mode.
On the final day of absence set, the water heater
carries out a legionella protection heat cycle.
At the end of the absence period, the setting
returns automatically to the previously selected
mode.
Controlling coupling to a photovoltaic plant.
Coupling the appliance to a photovoltaic plant
allows it to use electricity from the photovoltaic
plant, converting and storing it as domestic hot
water. This operative mode forces the water
heater to operate with a 62°C (non modifiable)
setpoint when electricity from the photovoltaic
system is available. The photovoltaic system
sends a signal to the water-heater (230V~) to
switch it automatically to PV mode. If enable
from the photovoltaic system is no longer pres-
ent, the water heater automatically goes back to
the previously set mode after 30 minutes.
Attention:
during operation in photovoltaic
mode, the water heater does not make any de-
mands on the boiler.
Automatic de-icing control.
The water heater has an evaporator de-icer
function, provided by the fan only (compressor
shutdown).
Activation of de-icing mode is controlled by the
evaporator's temperature sensor. It can detect the
formation of ice, regardless of the air temperature
or installation configuration.
The de-icing cycle lasts a maximum of 20
minutes.
Locking the controls.
The control keypad can be locked to avoid
unwanted operations. The lock is enabled by
pressing simultaneously keys (1 and 5) for 2
seconds. The keypad is disabled by pressing keys
(1 and 5) simultaneously.
4.6 INFORMATION MENU.
The Info menu (4) shows the hours of operation
of the heat pump or electrical resistor.
The various values may be reset to zero by acti-
vating the INIT parameter (Yes / No).
To enter the INFO menu, press key (4).
To scroll through the information, press the
key (4).
To change the status of the INIT parameter, press
keys (1 and 5 simultaneously).
No. of operating hours of the
electrical resistor.
No. of operating hours of the
heat pump.
Select Yes to reset the electrical
resistor and heat pump timer.
4.7 USER SETTINGS MENU.
This menu allows the user to adjust the operation
of the product as required.
To enter the user setting menu, press key (2).
Attention:
When the batteries are down, or if
they are removed from the remote control, the
clock and the programmable timer on the prod-
uct have to be reset.
