The corresponding wireless microphones require
registration; please refer to the instruction man-
ual of the microphones!

4  Rack Installation

The receiver is designed as a table top unit or
for installation into a rack for units of a width of
482 mm (19”) . For rack installation, unscrew the
four feet, then screw the two supplied mounting
brackets with two screws each to the front at the
left and right sides of the housing .

5  Connection

1)  1Insert the two supplied antennas (4) into the

BNC jacks ANT 1 and ANT 2 (10) and put them
in a vertical position .

 Hint:

The pair of signal amplifiers TXS-875B (avail-

able as an accessory) can be used to increase the
transmission range and the interference resistance .
The amplifiers are supplied with power via the
antenna jacks of the receiver .

2)  For connecting the subsequent unit (e . g .

mixer, amplifier), the following audio outputs
can be used:
bal . XLR outputs CH 1 and CH 2 (11) for
the output signals of the individual receiv-

ing units, for connection to a balanced
microphone input each

unbal . 6 .3 mm jack MIXED OUT (8) for
the master signal of the two receiv-

ing units, for connection to a line input
(a matching connection cable is supplied)

3)  Connect the supplied power supply unit to the

jack  12 V

 (9) for power supply and connect

the mains plug of the power supply unit to a
mains  socket  (230 V/ 50 Hz) .

6  Operation

Switch on the receiver with the switch POWER
(3) . The display (7) shows the channel indications
(f) of the transmission channels adjusted for the
two receiving units . As long as a receiving unit
does not receive a radio signal of sufficient power,
it is muted [symbol   (g) is displayed] .
Make the following adjustments separately for
each receiving unit .
1)  Switch on the transmitter . If the channel in-

dication (f) displays a different channel than
the one adjusted on the transmitter, adjust the
receiving unit to the channel of the transmit-
ter,

 chapter 6 .1 .

If the transmitter and the receiving unit

have been adjusted to the same transmission
channel and the reception of the radio signal is
of sufficient power, the muting is deactivated
[symbol   (g) disappears] . One of the indica-
tions

A

 or

B

 (e) lights up to indicate which of

the two antennas receives the more powerful
radio signal . The bar graph RF (c) indicates
the reception quality: the more segments are
displayed, the better is the reception .
With a poor or disturbed reception, check if
a  the reception can be improved by using a

different transmission channel .

b  the batteries of the transmitter are not suffi-

ciently charged any more (see battery status
indication on the transmitter) .

c  the distance between the transmitter and

the receiver is too long .

d  the reception is disturbed by objects in the

transmission path .

e  the reception can be improved by turning

the antennas .

f  the squelch adjusted with the squelch con-

trol (12) is too high [see step 4] .

2)  Switch on the subsequent audio unit or open

the corresponding control on the mixer .

3)  Speak / sing into the wireless microphone and

match the output level of the receiving unit
to the input of the subsequent unit with the
volume control (5) .

The volume of the audio signal received is

shown on the display via the bar graph AF (d):
the more segments are displayed, the higher is
the volume level . Adjust the optimum volume
on the transmitter (

 instruction manual of

the transmitter) .

4)  Use the squelch control (12) – CHANNEL 1

for receiving unit 1, CHANNEL 2 for receiv-
ing unit 2 – to define the threshold value for
the squelch . The further the control is turned
clockwise, the higher is the threshold value .

The squelch will mute the receiving unit

if during music intervals high-frequency inter-
ference signals are received of which the level
is below the threshold value adjusted . With a
higher threshold value, however, the operat-
ing range of the wireless transmission system
will be reduced as the receiving unit will also
be muted if the power of the radio signal
of the microphone falls below the threshold
value adjusted . Thus, a higher threshold value
may be adjusted with the squelch control if
the reception of the microphone signal is
good . However, with a longer distance be-
tween the transmitter and the receiver, a
lower value should be selected .

5)  After operation, switch off the receiver with

the switch POWER (3) .

If the receiver is not used for a longer

period of time, disconnect the power sup-
ply unit from the mains supply as it will still
consume some power when the receiver has
been switched off .

6.1  Adjusting the transmission channel

1)  In the operating panel of the receiving unit,

press the key

 or

 (6) [for a minimum of 1 s] .

On the display, the indication (b) for the chan-
nel adjusting mode starts flashing: RX1 (for
receiving unit 1) or RX2 (for receiving unit 2) .

2)  As long as the indication keeps flashing, the

channel can be selected: With the key

, the

channels are scanned in ascending order; with
the key

, they are scanned in descending

order . The 16 transmission channels are as-
signed to the following received frequencies:

Channel

3)  Approx . 3 seconds after the last actuation of a

key, the indication RX1 or RX2 will disappear
and the receiving unit will exit the channel
adjusting mode .

Note:

It is not possible to set both receiving units to the

same channel . The channel selected for the first receiv-
ing unit will be automatically skipped during channel
adjustment for the second receiving unit .

6.1.1 Lock mode

(locking the channel selector keys)

To prevent accidental change of the transmission
channels selected, it is possible to activate the
lock mode . With the lock mode activated, it is not
possible to call up the channel adjusting mode
for any of the two receiving units .
1)  To activate the lock mode, in one of the oper-

ating panels, keep the keys

 and

 pressed

simultaneously until LOCK (a) is displayed .

2)  To deactivate the lock mode, in one of the

operating panels, keep the keys

 and

pressed simultaneously until LOCK disappears .

Note:

The lock mode is automatically deactivated each

time the unit is switched on .
