3) With a new battery the microphone can be oper-
ated for approx. 6-8 hours.
4) If not used for a longer period of time (e. g. for more
than one week), the battery should be taken out of
microphone. Thus the microphone will not be
damaged in case the battery should leak.
5.2 Receiver
1) Connect the included AC/DC adaptor to the power
supply jack (9).
2) Plug the AC/DC adaptor into a mains socket
(230 V~/50 Hz).
3) The receiver can also be supplied with any other
12 V DC power source of at least 300 mA current
rating, e. g. car battery or other power supply. For
the connection a DC power plug 5.5/2.1 mm (out-
side/inside diameters) is required. The positive
pole must be at the centre pin.
6
Operation
1) Connect the audio output of the receiver (7) to a
line input (e. g. for CD player, tuner or tape deck) of
a mixer or amplifier. Only switch on the amplifier
resp. open up the corresponding mixer control if the
microphone system is completely switched on.
2) Place the antenna (6) vertically and fully extract it.
3) Switch on the receiver with the switch POWER (5).
The power LED ON (4) is lighting.
4) Switch on the microphone with the switch (12). The
power LED (13) is lighting. If it remains dark, a new
battery must be inserted. For the audio transmis-
sion slide the switch (12) fully upwards. In medium
position the microphone is muted, i. e. the transmit-
ter is working but the audio signal is switched off.
5) As soon as the microphone is switched on (mute
resp. ON), the reception display RX (3) must light at
the receiver. If it remains dark, the reception is too
poor:
a Is the microphone battery exhausted?
b Is the distance microphone - receiver too great
(max. approx. 30 m)?
c Is the reception disturbed e. g. by objects in the
transmission area?
d Can the reception be improved by turning the
antenna?
6) The audio level is displayed independent of the
volume control (1) by the level display AF LEVEL
(2). An optimum driving is obtained if all five display
elements light with the loudest passages. If they
light permanently, the microphone system is over-
driven. The recording volume must be reduced or
the microphone distance to the audio source must
be enlarged.
If the audio level is too low, there is a poor sig-
nal-to-noise ratio. The recording volume must be
increased or the microphone distance must be
reduced.
7) Coarsely match the output volume with the selector
switch (8) and finely with the control (1) to the line
input of the following amplifier or mixer. The output
level is:
in position LOW: 0-50 mV/600
Ω
in position HIGH: 0-250 mV/10 k
Ω
