Maintaining Power Supply Modules
The AMP Gen-7 device has two redundant 740 watt hot-swappable power supply modules. You can
access the power connectors from the
. Each power supply module has an auto-switching
capability. This allows them to automatically sense and operate at 100V to 240V input voltage. Under
normal operation both power supplies work in tandem spreading the load between them. If one of the
power supplies fails, the working power supply can provide all of the power needed by the device.
CAUTION:
Both power supply modules must be connected at all times
during operation. If one of the modules fails, you must replace it
immediately to maintain full power redundancy.
Changing Power Supplies
If a power supply fails, the LED indicator on the failed unit will be dark.
You must replace a failed power supply unit with another compatible unit of the same model.
1.
Unplug the power cord attached to the power supply that needs to be replaced.
2.
Push the release tab on the back of the power supply to release it from the chassis.
3.
Hold down the release tab and pull the power supply out using the handle.
4.
Place a new power supply module into the power bay and push it in until the tab clicks into place.
5.
Plug the AC power cord back into the module. The replacement power module will automatically
power up.
CAUTION:
Do not open the casing of any power supply.
