This will set a reference angle which is used for subsequent scans to minimize heading changes during the
generation of the XYZ output files.
The sonar should be running in North Up mode. The procedure detailed below should be followed prior to
commencing auto profile scans.
Power up the sonar head and immerse in the water for 5-10 minutes to acclimate to ambient
temperature.
Calibrate the compass if geographical location has changed.
Calibrate the gyro. See 3.5.5 Options > Calibrate Gyro. During the calibration, ensure the following:
o
Gyro Biasing Delay=30 set in the Win881AL_GS.ini configuration file.
o
The sonar has acclimated to the ambient water temperature and that it remains stationary
during calibration.
o
If the gyro is still drifting after the acclimation time, reset the power to the sonar head –>
this will automatically re-calibrate the gyro.
Set Heading Reference as required (see 3.5.7 Options > Set Heading Reference).
