14) To attach the Micro-servos (not included), glue the
second piece of flat wood to the fuselage. Attach the
servos between the two pieces of wood.
15) Connect the servos to the control arms as shown in
the following illustration.
16) You should balance the propeller from the accessory
set. For this, you may want to use our Prop Balancer
No.67597.
If necessary, weight down the lighter blade with some
adhesive tape.
17) Slide the base of the motor with transmission
attached onto the fuselage and attach with CA glue. The
motor/propeller axis should tilt forward from that of the
fuselage by should tilt downward by about 2 to 3
degrees
.
. Depending on the supplied motor mount, this
might require some beveling. The illustration below also
shows the Motor Controller and receiver. If you are using
the IKARUS Slow Flyer Power Set No. 160611 the
correct down thrust angle is already built into the molded
motor base.
18) Run the receiver's antenna cable against the
fuselage and secure with tape.
19) Store the battery pack in the cockpit/gondola ,
using extra pieces of foam to prevent and movement.
Balance the Bleriot III by sliding the battery pack
forward and backwards until the craft starts to nose
down. When balancing the model, support it about 10
cm (4 inches) from the leading edge of the wing with
your index finger, as shown. The model should nose
forward slightly about 10 degrees down from level
flight. (Illustration)
