Pairing Your Bluetooth Device
Pairing is the set-up process to introduce your Bluetooth-capable device to the unit. Once your device is paired,
the iBT18 can recognize it and you can play your audio through it.
1. Turn on your Bluetooth-enabled device and turn on Bluetooth capability as described in the device’s user
manual.
2. Press the
Power Button
to turn on the unit.
The first time the unit is powered on
, it will enter auto-pairing
mode and attempt to connect to a Bluetooth device. Otherwise, follow step 3 to begin pairing.
3.
Press and hold
the
Pairing Button
located on back of the unit for 2 seconds. The pairing sound will play,
and “PAIR” will appear and the Bluetooth icon will flash on the display indicating the unit is in pairing
mode.
4. “iHome iBT18” should appear on your device’s menu. If “Not Paired”, “Not Connected” or similar
message appears, select “iHome iBT18” on the device to connect it. If prompted for a password, enter
1234
on your device’s keypad. If no device is paired within 3 minutes, a tone will sound and the unit
will revert to its previous mode. To retry pairing, turn the unit OFF then back ON, then follow step 2
again.
5. If pairing is successful, a tone will sound and the Bluetooth icon will appear solid on the display, indicating
the unit is ready to play music. There should also be an indication on your device. If no device is
successfully paired within 3 minutes the unit will default to previous mode. To exit Bluetooth pairing mode,
press and hold the
Pairing Button

Power Button
.
Pairing with a Different Device
