8.4 Connecting the camera to a media player
Prerequisite: The camera is installed and ready for operation.
1. Set the streaming settings for Stream 1 and Stream 2 in the IDS NXT cockpit in the "Application" tab under
"Settings" > "Streaming" , see Configuring streams .
2. Enable streaming via RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) in the IDS NXT cockpit, see Enabling
streaming .
3. You can view the RTSP URL of the camera in IDS NXT cockpit under "Settings" > "Streaming" for stream 1
or for stream 2 under "URL" respectively and with a click on the URL is copied to the cache.
4. Enter the RTSP URL of the camera in your media player.
a. For example in the VLC media player: In the VLC media player, open the "Open Network Stream" option
in the "Media" menu. Enter the RTSP URL of the camera in the VLC media player under "Network".
