Direct cooling is possible using the Navigator control,
as shown in the diagram below. In this case, the
cooling function for both heating circuits can be set
separately.
Note the following for the pipework:
With brine systems:
A changeover valve between
heating and cooling on the brine side is necessary in
this case, to avoid the heat exchanger for the cooling
freezing in winter mode during heating. The pipework
must also be designed so that there are flows in cool
-
ing mode both the heat exchanger for the cooling and
evaporator in the heat pump (see diagram).
With groundwater systems:
In this case,
there are flows through both plate exchang
-
ers in heating mode and in cooling mode, in
other words, heat exchanger for the cooling and
the evaporator in the heat pump (see diagram).
Note:
In the pattern shown below, all heating circuits can
be operated simultaneously in heating mode or cooling
mode only. If one heating circuit is required for cooling,
whilst the other circuit is still heating, the pipework layout
on the next page must be used.

To avoid humidity damage to the structure in cooling mode, a humidity sensor must be installed
in combination with the roomstats for the relevant cooling circuit.
Alternatively a dewpoint-activated switch unit can be connected to the controller.
