Surface pretreatment
The surfaces are primed in accordance with EN ISO 12944 Part 4. The pretreatment takes into
account the composite construction of the device.
When primed for coating, the surfaces are clean, free of oil, grease and dust, dry and free of
rolling skin and corrosion.
Duration of protection offered by the paint finish
In corrosiveness category C2, the paint finish is designed to offer protection for > 15 years and
in corrosiveness category C3 protection for a period of 5 - 15 years.
If a longer protection duration is required or in the case of special applications, e.g. use of the
product in coastal regions, a paint finish in corrosiveness category C4 is also possible.
The protection duration is not a period of warranty, but a technical term which allows the user to
define a maintenance schedule.
The warranty period is regulated in the contract and shorter than the protection duration.
