You can adjust the number of rings that sound
before the machine answers the call:

between 3 and 8 rings or
Toll Saver
If you select
Toll Saver
the telephone will answer
after 2 rings, if there are new messages on the
answering machine, but after 5 rings if there are
no new messages. This allows you to call from a
remote telephone to check your messages,and if
it does not answer after 3 rings, you know there
are no new messages, so you can hang up
without being charged for the call.
