You can attach or detach the controller to/from the main unit

Separation cable connection
Using the supplied separation cable
(3.4 m; 11.2 ft),
the con-
troller can be separated from the main unit, doubling as a
remote controller.
Connect the controller and the main unit using with the sup-
plied separation cable as follows.
