Adding a CIFS user
Use this task to add users to a workgroup for access to a CIFS shared path.
About this task
To add a user:
Procedure
1. From the Users Management for Workgroups window, click Add. The New
user
window is displayed.
2. In the User name: field, type a name for the new user.
3. In the New password: field, type a new password.
4.
In the Verify password: field, retype the password entered in the previous
field.
5. (Optional) Click Manually configure IDs to define a User ID that is different
from the ID automatically defined by the system. Otherwise, leave the
automatically assigned ID as is and go on to the next step.
6. Click Ok. The new user is added to the Users list in the Users Management
for Workgroups
window.

Changing a user password
Use this task to change a user’s password for CIFS access.
About this task
To change the password of a selected user:
Procedure
1.
From the Users Management for Workgroups window, select a user from the
Users
list and click Change password.
2. Type a new password in the New password: field
3. Retype the password in the Verify password: field.
4. Click Ok. The user’s password is changed to the new password.
