fault
LED

drives
spin-up.
Wait
until
the
storage
server
is
finished
powering
up
before
checking
the
LEDs
on

front
of
the
storage
server.

Turning
off
the
storage
server
Attention:
Except
in
an
emergency,
never
turn
off
the
power
if
any
storage
server
Fault
LEDs
are
on.
Correct
the
fault
before
you
turn
off
the
power.
Use
the
storage-management
software
and
the
Fault
LEDs
to
check
the
overall
status
of
the
storage
server
and
its
components.
All
LEDs
should
be
green
on
the
front
of
the
storage
server.
If
they
are
not,
use
the
storage-management
software
to
diagnose
the
problem
(see
“Monitoring
status
through
software”
on
page
50).
This
ensures
that
the
storage
server
will
power
up
correctly
later.

The
storage
server
is
designed
to
run
continuously,
24
hours
a
day.
After
you
turn
on
the
storage
server,
do
not
turn
it
off.
Turn
off
the
power
only
when:
v
Instructions
in
a
hardware
or
software
procedure
require
you
to
turn
off
the
power.
v
A
service
technician
tells
you
to
turn
off
the
power.
v
A
power
outage
or
emergency
situation
occurs
(see
“Performing
an
emergency
shutdown”
on
page
49).
