5. Place the NVMe U.2 pass-thru card on an appropriate ESD surface.

Replacing an NVMe U.2 pass-thru card in the 9009-22G or 9223-22S system

To replace an NVMe U.2 pass-thru card in the system, complete the steps in this procedure.

Procedure

1. Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged

into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface. If not, do so now.

2. Plug the NVMe cable into the connector port (J1) of the new or replacement NVMe U.2 pass-thru card.

Push the connector in until the connector latch clicks. See the following figure.

If you have one NVMe U.2 pass-thru card, it is installed in slot P1-C49 and a filler is in slot P1-C50.

The NVMe cable connects from port (J1) on the NVMe drive backplane to port (J1) on the NVMe

U.2 pass-thru card. See the following figure.
