Installing options
This section provides instructions for installing various options in the computer.
Moving the stabilizing feet
The two front feet on the bottom of the computer rotate 90 degrees to provide
additional stability.
When installing options in the computer, you might find it easier to lay the computer
on its side. If you do so, rotate the feet in towards the computer, so they do not
break off due to the weight of the computer.
Removing the cover and front bezel
The following information describes how to remove the cover and bezel from the
computer. When disconnecting cables, be sure to note where they attach, so that
you can correctly reattach them correctly later.
To remove the cover and front bezel, complete the following steps:
1. Review the information in “Before you begin” on page 43.
2. Remove any media (diskettes, CDs, or tapes) from the drives, and shut down
the operating system.
3. Turn off the computer and all attached devices. Disconnect all external cables
and power cords.
4. If the key-lock button is locked, unlock it.
5. Press the key-lock button on the left side of the front bezel, and slide the side
cover toward the rear of the computer.
6. Lift the side cover from the computer.
