Removing the support bracket
When working with some devices, such as hard disk drives, adapters, and memory
modules, you must first remove the support bracket to access the device.
To remove the support bracket, complete the following steps:
1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”
on page 79.
2. Remove the side cover (“Removing the side cover” on page 81).
3. Pull out on the rear end of the support bracket approximately 150 mm (6 in.)
(see Figure 12).
4. Disengage the front end of the support bracket from the computer and set the
bracket aside.
Replacing the support bracket
To replace the support bracket, complete the following steps:
1. Insert one end of the support bracket into the support bracket hinge on one end
of the computer and then insert the other end of the support bracket into the
other support bracket hinge on the other end of the computer and make sure
that it is secure.
2. Replace the side cover (see “Removing the side cover” on page 81.
