Chapter 1. IBM PC overview

Thank you for selecting an IBM PC computer. Your computer incorporates many
of the latest advances in computer technology and can be upgraded as your needs
change.

This section provides an overview of the computer features, preinstalled
software, and specifications.

Identifying your computer

The best way to identify your computer is through use of your machine type
number, configuration identification (Config. ID) number, and serial number,
which is located at the bottom of the right side panel as shown in the illustration
below.
