3.16 Step 14

This step verifies that the 7208 Tape Drive is properly configured to the AS/400.

1. At the OS/400 Main Menu command line, type wrkcfgsts and press Enter.

2. In the Type field of the Work with Configuration Status screen, type *dev, then tab to the Configuration description field.

3. In the Configuration description field, type *tap and press Enter.

Does the 7208 Tape Drive that you are configuring appear under the Description column, and can it be powered off and on

successfully?

Note: To determine the number of the 7208 Tape Drive that you are configuring, refer to the instructions for performing the checkout

procedure in the 7208 20GB External 8mm Tape Drive Model 342 Setup and Operator Guide.

NO Go to Step 15.

YES Go to Step 16.
