Configuration 1: self power (AC adapter) configuration
The Multi-Burner is usually used with the self power (AC adapter)
configuration.
Requirements

Standard USB cable and power cable assembly (shipped with this option);
IBM Part Number 22P9188
v
AC adapter (shipped with this option)
Specifications
Read and write CD and DVD media are supported.
Connecting the Multi-Burner using configuration 1
To connect the Multi-Burner to your system, complete the following procedure.
Refer to Figure 1-1 during installation.
1. Turn on your computer.
2. Using the USB cable

, insert the cable plug

into the USB connector
of the drive while squeezing the two buttons on the connector.
3. Plug the standard USB connector

into the USB port of your computer.
4. Connect the AC adapter to the DC IN connector

on the Multi-Burner.
Note: USB cable

is not required for this configuration.
