Note:

Please carefully review the maintenance procedures in Chapter 4, “Operating the tape
drive”, on page 31 as periodic maintenance (cleaning, firmware upgrades, etc.) are not
covered by the IBM Warranty. Repairs or exchanges resulting from improper maintenance
will result in billable service charges.
