TX31 Mini Round Baler with Twine Wrap
STARTUP ESSENTIALS
Please be sure to review the owner’s manual
for full details on how to properly and
safely operate the machine. Some of the questions you have will likely be answered in
the owner’s manual.
It is
extremely important
to understand that the twine arm must be “reset” before
you begin baling hay for the day. The manual details how to reset the twine arm, and

Do not run the baler at too slow a speed
. The baler should be run at 540 RPM at the
PTO and not any slower. Your tractor’s engine speed is not the same as your PTO
speed, but it is directly linked to it. Consult your tractor’s manual if you are unsure how
to achieve 540 RPM at the PTO. Multiple problems can be traced back to running the
baler at too slow a speed. There is no need to “go easy on it”. The baler is built
assuming that the user will run it that fast. Also, drive the tractor forward at as quick a
forward speed as possible without the hay bunching up. Baling at too slow of a forward
speed will result in uneven feeding and cause problems as well.
Be sure to get to know and fully test the machine prior to the baling session
. Try
cutting, raking, and baling a small section of your field as practice, when there is no
pressure to get the hay crop in before a storm. This is important because the machine
is new to you, and it will take some time to become accustomed to how it operates. If
your first use is during a live baling session and you run into problems, you risk losing a
good hay crop as the cut hay is left in the field longer than desirable or is rained on.
Not all twine works well in this baler.
Some twines are too thin, too thick, or too
slippery. Use the twine supplied with your machine, or another twine approved by
your Ibex Equipment dealer.
All information in the manual is important, but be sure to review the section on
“Recommendations for Good Results”. Some things are not intuitive. This section can
help you be as successful as possible and may prevent the need to call your dealer for
support.
Spare shear bolts
are located on the left side of the machine inside the front door (left
and right are as if sitting on the tractor facing forward). The bolt is installed on the
machine on the front-most sprocket. It will shear if excess strain is placed on the
