1. Introduction
The i.onik
®
Flood Sensor is designed to trigger the i.onik
®
Alarmsystem Smart Panel when it detects an area of the home
or office where flooding has occurred.
The sensor consists of two parts, a transmitter and a water
sensor (which should be positioned where the presence of
water needs to be monitored such as under a kitchen sink,
bath or in a cellar). On sensing the presence of water the Flood
Sensor triggers the Wire-free Home Alarm, which should be set
to indicate the specific zone which has been triggered.
2. Location
First determine the location of the Flood Sensor,
which should be placed:
• Where the presence of water may be detected.
The metal contacts of the water sensor must
both be in direct contact with water for the
alarm to activate, but no other part of the sensor
should be allowed to be sub-merged in water.
• On any hard or flat surface using the double-sided
adhesive strips provided.
• Away from extreme temperature sources (radiators, ovens,
stoves etc) and large metal objects that could interfere with
wireless performance.
