Channel Search
After you have selected a numbering method and pressed
, the channel search will start automatically. When
this procedure is completed, you will be informed about
the total number of channels found. Then, press the
button to tune to the first TV channel.
If the channel searching procedure has not been
completed successfully, a suitable error message will
appear. You can then either press the
button to go
back to the
Select Language
screen or enter the
Main
Menu
by pressing the
button. In the
Main Menu
you will be able to access the
Installation
and
Help
submenus.
To adjust the picture quality, you may need to change resolution and the
TV Screen Format
settings.
TV Screen Format
When you are setting up a new decoder for the first time,
by default, the deocder sets
TV Screen Format
to 4:.
It means that if the screen format of your TV is 4:, there
is no need to modify
TV Screen Format
setting in the
decoder’s menu.
However, if the screen format of your TV is 16:9, using
“Point and Select” rule (see page 14), go to the
Main
Menu
,
Installation
,
Settings
,
TV Settings
and change
the
TV Screen Format
option to
16:9
.
Resolution Change
The resolution settings applies to HDMI connection only.
They will have no effect on SCART output.
Since the terrestrial TV channels received in Italy are
Standard Definition (SD) channels and not High Defini-
tion (HD) channels, your i-CAN 1110TH has been preset
in factory to display a video resolution called 576i that
is best adapted. However, some TV sets do not support
this resolution using HDMI connection. If this is the case
of your TV set, it will display a black screen when you
connect it via HDMI to the i-CAN 1110TH. If this happens,
connect your decoder to the TV using a SCART cable
and change the
Video Resolution
option (Main Menu
– Installation – Settings – TV Settings) to
1080i
. Then,
connect the decoder to the TV via the HDMI cable again.
