SPARK PLUG

CAUTION

ALWAYS

allow the engine to cool down before removing the spark plug.

NOTE

ALWAYS

replace the spark plug with the same model. Incorrect spark plug

installation can cause serious engine damage.

DO NOT

allow dirt or debris to enter the cylinder bore.

6.6

Unplug the spark plug HT Lead cap to expose the spark plug.

6.7

Using the plug wrench provided, unscrew the spark plug in an anti-clockwise
direction.

6.8

Inspect the spark plug and washer for wear and damage.
If the spark plug or washer is worn or damaged, you

MUST

replace it with a new

one.

6.9

Remove carbon deposits from the spark plug using a soft wire brush.

6.10

The spark plug gap should be 0.6

– 0.7mm.

Check the gap using a feeler gauge and adjust as necessary by carefully bending
the side electrode to achieve the correct gap.

6.11

Refit the cleaned and adjusted spark plug by hand to avoid cross-threading.

6.12

Once the spark plug seats, tighten with the spark plug wrench.

DO NOT

overtighten.

6.13

Re-attach the spark plug HT lead cap.
