All bearings on your splitter are sealed units and should have sufficient lubricant to last
the life of your machine under normal use.
7.1
No lubrication is required between the carriage bearing and the frame. This area must
be kept free of lubricant to ensure proper operation of the splitter.
7.2
To grease the rack and pinion, carefully tie a piece of string on to the end loop of the
return spring.
7.3
Remove the spring from the locknuts and hold the string as you let the spring retract
back under the belt guard.
Repeat for the spring on the other side of the frame.
7.4
Pull the carriage assembly out until it is near the wedge.
7.5
Grease the rack teeth with All Purpose Grease.
7.6
Push the carriage assembly back into the starting position, reconnect the return springs
and remove the string.
