Encoding function (Recording to MP3 file)

Encoding function allows different audio sources to be recorded and transferred to a USB or SD-card
as an MP3 format file.

Encoding from CD/CD-MP3

Switch to CD mode, open the CD door and insert a disc.
Insert a USB/SD-card into the corresponding socket.
Select a track to be transferred or recorded; press PLAY/PAUSE button to start playback.
During playback, press REC button. The track will be refreshed and start playing from the beginning,
and REC symbol will be shown on the display to indicate that the CD is being recorded.
The recording will continue and automatically stop at the end of the CD. It will save each track into a
new file automatically with a unique name (i.e. TMCDA001, TMCDA002… or copy the original file
name from the CD-MP3 disc). These files will be located in the USB/SD-card under the folder name
called TMCDA001.
To  stop  the  recording  before  the  end  of  the  track,  press  REC  or  STOP  button.  This  will  create  an
MP3 file of the partial track. When recording has been stopped, the REC symbol will no longer be
displayed.
If a USB and an SD-card are simultaneously inserted into both slots, the unit will question if this
record command is to save the MP3  file to the USB or  SD-card. In such a  case, after  pressing REC
button, “REC USB” will be shown on the display first. NEXT button on the unit or NEXT/TUNE UP
button on  the RC is used  to  select the recording destination. Press  the button, “REC CARD” will  be
displayed. If pressing the button once again, the “REC USB” will be selected again.
To confirm the selection, press REC button, and the MP3 file will be saved into the selected
destination.

Encoding from Radio

Switch to Radio mode.
Insert a USB/SD-card into the corresponding socket.
Select a radio channel to be recorded. Press REC button, “REC” will be shown on the display to
indicate that the recording is on.
To  stop  recording  press  REC  or  STOP  button.  When  recording  has  been  stopped,  the  REC  symbol
will no longer be displayed.

Note:

If a radio station is weak or unclear, then encoding it to MP3 will not give good results, which is

normal. The encoding function needs a good and strong radio signal to work properly.

Encoding from AUX-in

Switch to AUX-in mode, plug in and turn on the external device.
Insert a USB/SD-card into the corresponding socket.
Start playback of the external device and ensure that its audio signal is being heard through the unit.
During  playback,  press  REC  button.  REC  symbol  will  be  shown  on  the  display  to  indicate  that  the
AUX-in audio is being recorded.
To stop the recording press REC or STOP button. When recording has been stopped, the REC
symbol will no longer be displayed.
Press  the button; “REC CARD” will  be
displayed. If pressing the button once again, the “REC USB” will be selected again.
To confirm the selection, press REC button, and the MP3 file will be saved into the selected
destination.

Note:

Please  make  sure  that  the  USB  drive  or  the  SD-card  has  enough  free  memory  space  for  the

incoming MP3 file, otherwise FULL will be displayed and recording will not start.
