A second lower arm, or link,
has been added to each side
of the rear suspension to keep
the tires even more precisely
in contact with the road. This
improves the Sonata’s stability
when turning at high speeds.
Essentially, the extra link
helps make the suspension
more supple. Think about the
difference between picking up
a cat and a small dog. A cat’s
spine is very supple, so if you
hold it under the chest and
lift up a few inches, the spine
droops and the feet stay in
contact with the floor. A dog’s
spine is stiffer, so if you lift a
small dog up the same way, its
feet will leave the floor.
PERFORMANCE: Better
contact with the road means
greater traction, for better
handling.
SAFETY: Greater traction
helps the driver maintain
control of the vehicle.
COMFORT: The suspension
absorbs bumps, for a smoother,

The Proximity Key can be set
to enable this feature. The
sensors in the rear bumper will
detect the key when it gets
within 3 feet of the trunk. If the
key stays within the detection
area for 3 seconds, a buzzer
sounds and the hazard lights
flash briefly. Then the trunk
pops open.

to set bags or parcels down
to activate the remote trunk
