Trouble symptom
4.Unusual oil pressure
1) Oil pressure is high
2) Oil pressure is low
3) Transmission
Â
Control valve malfunctioning.
Â
Cold weather. (high oil viscosity)
Â
Use of improper oil.
Â
Gear pump malfunctioning(worn).
Â
Oil leaks excessively :
(1)Control valve oil spring defective.
(2)Control valve spool defective.
Â
Air sucked in.
Â
Low oil level.
Â
Oil filter clogging.
Â
Oil leaks excessively.
(1)Check for spool operation.
If necessary, replace valve.
(2)Check for clogging of small hole in
valve body. If necessary, clean or
repair.
Â
When atmospheric temp is below fr-
eezing point
(when normal oil pressure is recover-
ed if heated to 60 ~ 80˚C), change
oil.
Â
Check and change oil.
Â
Disassemble, check and replace.
Â
Check spring tension (see spring sp-
ecification).
If necessary replace.
Â
Disassemble, check, and repair or re-
place valve.
Â
Check joints and pipes. If necessary,
retighten joint or replace packing.
Â
Check oil level and add oil.
Â
Check and replace.
Â
Disassemble, check (piston ring and
O-ring for wear and other defects),
and replace.
Probable cause
Remedy
5.Power is not transmitted
1) Torque converter
2) Transmission
Â
Clutch plate damaged.
Â
Low oil level.
Â
Oil pump driving system faulty.
Â
Shaft broken.
Â
Lack of oil pressure.
Â
Low oil level.
Â
Inching valve and link lever improper-
ly positioned.
Â
Forward/reverse spool and link lever
improperly positioned.
Â
Clutch fails to disengage :
(1)Clutch case piston ring defective.
(2)Main shaft plug slipping out.
Â
Clutch seizing.
Â
Shaft broken off.
Â
Clutch drum damaged (spring groove).
Â
Clutch snap ring broken.
Â
Check for damage by listening to ab-
normal sounds at a low converter sp-
eed and replace.
Â
Check oil level and add oil
Â
Disassemble and check for wear of
pump gear, shaft and spline.
Replace defective parts.
Â
Check and replace.
Â
Check oil pump gear for wear and for
oil suction force.
If necessary, replace pump.
Â
Check oil level and add oil.
Â
Check measure and adjust.
Â
Check and adjust.
Â
Disassemble, check and replace
Â
Disassemble, check and repair or re-
place
Â
Check to see whether or not truck
moves even then transmission is in
neutral position. If so, replace.
Â
Disassemble, check(main shaft, etc.),
and replace.
Â
Disassemble, check and replace.
Â
Disassemble, check and repair or re-
place.
