6. Troubleshooting
I can’t hear the “whoop whoop” when I press the WiFi button ?
•
If the ML-IoT is already in the process of sending comms (usually on the hour), then it
wont respond to the button press
–
wait until comms is complete (the LED turns off)
–
and try pressing the button again.
•
The ML-IoT enclosure is well sealed to prevent water ingress
–
unfortunately this also
means it is difficult for the sound to get out
–
so the “whoop whoop” is quiet –
so
listen carefully.
•
Is the “heartbeat” LED flashing red every second
?
–
if not then maybe the batteries
are dead.
I can hear the “whoop whoop” when I press the WiFi button but I cant see the ML-IoT
WiFi network ?
•
The “whoop
whoop” occurs when the
WiFi button is pressed
–
you need to wait a little
longer until the “beep beep” is heard –
which indicates the WiFi Access Point has
started
–
at this point the LED will be red and pulsing
–
when your WiFi connects, the
LED will be white and pulsing
–
when your browser connects, the LED will be white
and steady.
•
Make sure your device is refreshing the WiFi networks
–
some devices do this
auto
matically, but some may have a “Refresh” button.
My browser won’t connect to the ML-IoT ?
•
Make sure your device is connected to the ML-IoT WiFi network first
–
the LED will be
white and pulsing if your device is connected to the ML-IoT WiFi . If your device has
disconnected from the ML-IoT, it may have automatically connected to another WiFi
network
–
maybe your work WiFi. So you will need to disconnect from this network
and reconnect to the ML-IoT WiFi network.
•
If the LED on the ML-IoT is red and pulsing, then it means no devices are connected to
the ML-IoT WiFi network.
•
Make sure the browser address is 10.10.10.10
•
Do not try to do a Google search for 10.10.10.10
–
you MUST enter this address into
the browser address area.
•
Try turning off your mobile device WiFi and then turn it on again
–
this has
occasionally solved this issue.
•
If the LED on the ML-IoT is white and pulsing, but you still can
’
t connect your browser
and get a logon dialog, then maybe someone else nearby has previously connected to
this ML-IoT, and the phone in their pocket has automatically connected
–
and your
device is not connected at all
–
check your devices WiFi settings to make sure you are
connected.
•
Try a different browser on your device, or try a different device.
