CLUTCH RELEASE BEARING

Inspect the clutch release bearing for any
abnormality, especially cracks. When removing the
bearing from the clutch, decide whether it can be
reused or if it should be replaced.
Smooth engagement and disengagement of the
clutch depends on the condition of this bearing.

GEAR SHIFT FORK & GEAR

Using a thickness gauge, check the clearance
between the groove of its gear and gear shift fork.
The clearance for each of the three gear shift forks
plays an important role in the smoothness and
positiveness of shifting action.
If the checked clearance is noted to exceed the limit
specified, replace the fork or its gear, or both.
