Free end of shaft seal

Mandrel

Slide the shaft seal onto the mandrel, making
certain that it is correctly positioned.

The free end of the shaft seal should face the
pump.

Sleeve

Mandrel

Shaft seal

Insert the mandrel, along with the shaft seal,
into the sleeve.

Use a 500-gram hammer to drive the mandrel
into the sleeve until the shaft seal is correctly
seated in the groove.
