Burning chipboard, lacquered, painted or impregnated wood, as well as plastic and rubber is prohi-
bited. It harms both the environment and the stove.
Fuelling in general
Fast or high heat
You can obtain fast or high heat by burning many small pieces of wood
Maximum fuelling
Maximum amount of fuel at one time 2.3 kg of wood or 1.9 kg of briquettes
If this limit is exceeded, the stove is no longer covered by the factory guarantee and may be damaged
due to excessive heat.
Slow burning
Slow burning can be achieved by burning one or two very large pieces of wood and pushing the
regulating rod to the right.
Avoid using too little fuel
If the fireproof materials in the combustion chamber become „black“ when the stove has been lit
this means that the stove is polluting and the automatic air supply system has not been functioning
optimally. The regulating rod should therefore be pushed further to the left. It may also be necessary
to burn larger quantities of wood.
The chimney
General
The chimney is the stove’s „engine“ and is decisive for its proper functioning. This can only be achie-
ved if the stove and the chimney have been installed in accordance with the instructions, as it will
otherwise be impossible to obtain satisfactory combustion. The draught in the chimney creates a
negative pressure in the stove which removes the smoke from the stove, sucks in air for the window-
rinsing process and in through the primary and secondary draught control vents to the combustion
chamber.
The draught in the chimney is created by the difference in temperature inside and outside the chim-
ney. The higher the temperature in the chimney, the better the draught will be. It is therefore absolu-
tely essential that the chimney is thoroughly heated before the stove is used as an open fireplace and
before closing the draught control vents and reducing the rate of combustion in the stove (a brick
chimney will take longer to heat up than a steel chimney).
Even a good chimney may function poorly if it is used incorrectly, on the other hand, even a poor
chimney could function well if it is used properly.
Requirements of the chimney
The chimney must be tall enough to ensure a proper draught and prevent the smoke producing any
inconvenience. WALL has a rated draught of approx. 15 Pa.
The chimney must have a minimum aperture diameter corresponding to 150 mm.
